Land Acknowledgment

Vernon Barford is proud to acknowledge that we are on Treaty Six territory and Edmonton Whitemud Metis District 10. We recognize the many First Nations people, including the Cree, Blackfoot, Saulteaux, Dene and the Nakota Sioux peoples that lived on, thrived on and cared for the land that we now benefit from. We recognize those that came before us and that we too are becoming ancestors to all those that will come after us. We commit to reconciliation by caring for and respecting mother earth, acknowledging each person, regardless of who they are or where they come from, and by ensuring that everyone feels equal, respected and valued for as long as the grass grows, the rivers flow and the sun shines. Hiy Hiy.
